Research details

Paul V. Martorana, earned his PhD in Management and Organizations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He received his BA on a full academic scholarship from the University of California at Berkeley. His research examines the effects of social and personal power on action-taking, creativity, CEO and top management team performance, mentoring, altruism, and emotions. His work is published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Behavior and Human Decision Processes, European Journal of Social Psychology, and Organizational Research Methods. In addition, his research has been highlighted in numerous popular media outlets including Fortune, Tavis Smiley and the Wall Street Journal. Prior to working at Hofstra he was on the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business. He has also taught undergraduate, MBA and executive courses at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, the University of California at Berkeley, Fordham University, Baruch College and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to his academic career he managed projects at consulting firms and has since been invited to consult to small as well as Fortune 500 firms.
