| Further Details About Your Research | : | In virtually all groups, some individuals develop more power and influence than others – their opinions hold more weight, they receive more deference, and they have disproportionate control over the group’s decisions. This observation inspires three questions at the core of my research: First, how are power and influence typically distributed in groups? That is, who tends to establish control over groups and how? Second, how does power affect those who possess it? For example, how does occupying a position of leadership affect the way individuals make decisions? Third, in what ways do powerful individuals psychologically impact those around them, such as others’ thoughts, attitudes, and motivations? |
